Q. I have lost a copy of my child's or own birth certificate. Can I get a copy of the birth certificate from the military hospital?
A. It's commonly misperceived that the Army hospitals issue birth certificates. We do issue a report of live birth that the U.S. Consulate uses to issue a Report of Live Birth, or FS-240. The FS-240 is valid in all U.S. States and Territories as the equivalent of a birth certificate. To obtain a copy, follow the instructions at the Department of State.
Q. I'm interested in working at a medical facility. How do I apply?
A. All medical positions are listed on a centralized site at the U.S. Army Civilian Personnel Online Web site under a separate listing for Medical Positions.
Q. I've moved from the area. Can I still get a copy of my medical records?
A. Your first stop should be the clinic page for the community where you lived. Use the "Contact Us" button to send your request to the clinic directly. Include the approximate time frame, the name of the sponsor, the names of anyone in the family unit whose records you need, and the last four digits of the sponsor. Someone at the clinic will check our correspondence records to see if your records are there, or tell you where they were sent. If the records have been retired, visit the National Archives in St. Louis for further assistance.
